Dussehra, or Vijayadashami, is a festival of immense cultural and religious importance in India. Celebrated at the conclusion of Navratri, it signifies the victory of good over evil, commemorating Lord Rama’s conquest of the demon king Ravana as depicted in the Ramayana.
Additionally, the festival honours Goddess Durga’s triumph over the buffalo demon Mahishasura, symbolising the eradication of negative forces.
